The Memorial to the Abolition of Slavery

Nantes based part of its wealth on the slave trade, the city being the leading slave port in the 18th century.
 
Today, the act is recognised as a crime against humanity.

The memorial is a free public space open to all all year round. The route is just over 1.5 km long and takes around 1 hour to complete.
