What to see at the Nantes Museum of Art?

The Nantes Museum of Art is unique in that it displays 13,000 works from the 13th to the 19th century. Explore nine centuries of history and move from ancient paintings to contemporary works of art.

Discover a permanent collection covering four periods:
  • Ancient art, including three masterpieces by the famous painter Georges de La Tour
  • The 19th century: from neoclassicism to realism and impressionism, with works by Gustave Courbet, Claude Monet, Auguste Rodin and Eugène Delacroix.
  • Modern art, with a focus on surrealism and abstraction
  • Contemporary art, displayed in the contemporary setting of Le Cube, a new 2,000 m² building
In addition to its permanent collections, the Nantes Museum of Art presents temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
